Ingredients
  

  • 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup cold butter Use cold butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Mix apples with sugar, spices, and lemon juice.
  • Prepare dough and roll into crust.
  • Place crust in pie dish and add filling.
  • Top with second crust or lattice.
  • Brush with egg wash.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden.
  • Cool before serving.

Notes

Let pie cool before slicing; do not overfill.
