Equipment

  • oven
  • baking dish
  • small bowl
  • steamer

Ingredients

Green Beans

  • 1.5 lbs fresh green beans (trimmed)
  • 4 slices turkey bacon (cooked and crumbled)

Sauce

  • cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (or low-sodium soy sauce)
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Steam or boil the green beans for 5–6 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and place in the baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  • Pour the sauce over the green beans and toss to coat evenly.
  • Sprinkle cooked, crumbled turkey bacon over the top.
  • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through so the beans soak up all that delicious glaze.

Notes

You can use fresh or frozen green beans. For a milder glaze, reduce brown sugar to ¼ cup. If you prefer extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes. Make ahead: assemble and refrigerate up to 1 day; bake before serving. Leftovers refrigerate 3–4 days; reheat gently for best texture.
