Ingredients
  

  • 225 g green beans washed and trimmed
  • 2-3 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Trim the ends off the green beans and wash them well. Parboil for 4-5 minutes.
  • Heat a frying pan over low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter, and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Squeeze in the juice of one lemon along with a few lemon slices and the remaining butter.
  • Drain the green beans and plunge them immediately in ice water.
  • Add them to the frying pan with the lemon butter and garlic sauce and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for a few minutes until they are the desired doneness.

Notes

Any green beans will work for this recipe but French green beans yield the best results. Remember to drain and plunge the beans into ice water immediately after parboiling to stop them from overcooking. Avoid burning garlic as it can spoil the dish's flavor. Consider sprinkling with grated hard cheese like Parmesan before serving for an extra touch.
