Equipment

  • air fryer

Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

Making the Churro Bites

  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir in melted butter, vanilla, and warm water until a soft dough forms.
  • Lightly flour your hands. Pinch off small portions of dough and roll them into bite-sized balls or short logs.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the basket with oil or brush with melted butter. Place churro bites in a single layer, not touching.
  • Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and puffed.
  • As soon as the bites come out of the air fryer, brush them with melted butter. In a shallow bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon, then roll the bites in the mixture until generously coated.
  • Serve warm with a cup of hot chocolate, coffee, or a small bowl of chocolate sauce for dipping.

Notes

If your dough feels too sticky, add a touch more flour. These bites are best enjoyed warm, but you can reheat them in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to bring back their crunch.
